Eat My Treats presents the "ROCKSTAR" Topsy Turvy birthday cake

We where commissioned to do a cake for a sweet little girls 10th birthday. Her name's celeste and she plays guitar so we knew it had to be funky!

After a long week of birthday cakes and cupcakes and vanilla covered strawberries, whew!, we decided to buckle down and start our April 17th "ROCKSTAR" Topsy Turvy cake for Celeste.

From the beginning! The cake making commences!

We start with a 6 layer vanilla cake
chilled and prepped for carving....2days in advance to get a strong enough outside to carve and not crumble

Next we carve out our slanted cake for the Topsy Turvy look and then we frost it!! oooh laalaaalaaa pre -preparation!

ok...seeing that we do so many other marvelous things (including baking) we don't always get to capture every moment of the cake making process...FAST FORWARD to the wrapping of the FONDANT!

Now the client wanted yellow, turquoise and pink!

Here are both tiers already fitted and wrapped with gumballs to seal the deal!
Go team Celeste!

Ok so with the help of Bubble Girl Akira! We pre-cut Stars Circles and Squares Oh MY! (small medium and large)

(previous pics from my G1, Time for some ACTION! Ok Cybershot LET'S GO!)
